Surprising behaviour that counts as cheating but you may not be aware of it!

There are other ways to cheat besides physical intimacy

Not everyone makes a conscious choice to cheat on their partner. There are no strict guidelines to define what counts as cheating in a relationship. However, most people believe physical intimacy with a third person as cheating without realising that infidelity is not merely confined to physical cheating. Here are some surprising behaviours that are counted as cheating but you may not be aware of it:

2/7

Being in constant touch with an ex-partner

This seemingly harmless behaviour of being in constant touch with an ex-partner can actually do irreparable damage to the relationship with your current partner. You might be friends with your former partner due to which you keep in touch with messages and calls, or maybe even meet sometimes. While there might not be anything fundamentally wrong with such behaviour but such gestures make you emotionally dependent on the person and have the potential to complicate your love life.

3/7

Having an active profile on dating apps

There is a simple explanation to this: if you have an active profile on a dating app despite being in a serious relationship, it means you are looking for options. Isn’t this cheating? A lot of people do this for fun but such behaviour can land you in trouble.

4/7

Sexting someone else

You might give countless justifications for sexting a person who is not your partner but talking or messaging about sex is as wrong as actually doing it. To cheat on your partner you need not merely get physically involved with someone else, something as simple as sexting means you are not being honest to your partner.

5/7

Getting emotionally involved with someone

When you are in a relationship with someone, that person not only deserves your physical fidelity but emotional loyalty as well. While it’s not possible to make complete emotional investment on only one person in a lifetime, it depends upon you to decide how you are going to do that. For example, we share a different emotional rapport with different people in our life like our parents, siblings, friends and lovers. Now, you cannot share the emotional bonding you have with your parents with others. Same is the case with your partner and when you do that, you are definitely not being honest with the person.

6/7

Fantasising about a third person

When you fantasize about a third person while being with your partner, you are committing one of the most unforgivable mistakes. Do we really need to explain why?

7/7

Splurging on someone else

Buying a gift for a friend on his or her birthday or on special occasions is perfectly fine. But if you often splurge on someone and then try hiding your expenses from your partner, it means you are not being honest with him or her. Remember, whenever you have this urge to hide something from your partner, it means you are doing something wrong.
