The most common types of cheating

Cheating is undeniably horrid. It’s despicable and absolutely emotionally draining for the person who has been cheated on. There’s a very fine line to what we prefer as cheating; some term flirting to be cheating while others rage over their partner’s one-night stand. Understanding and knowing what exactly comprises cheating is the key to avoiding unnecessary or extra emotional hurt. In account of this, we bring to you the 5 most common types of cheating.

2/6

Sexual intercourse

This is the most prominent type of cheating. There’s no grey area. If you have engaged in sexual intercourse with another person other than your partner, without their knowledge or permission, then that’s cheating. This can be very hurtful since sex is the ultimate form of physically bonding with someone.

3/6

Sexual activity without intercourse

If you indulge in making out, basic foreplay, and even oral sex with another person other than your partner, it’s also known as cheating. Don’t be fooled, even though sexual intercourse seals the act of cheating, basic sexual activity definitely marks it as cheating.

4/6

Emotional infidelity

Some people term this to be more hurtful than their partner having sex with someone else. Losing out your feelings to someone else other than your partner can hurt them beyond words. Emotional infidelity probably means that you don’t love your partner anymore, and that’s more hurtful.

5/6

Cyber infidelity

Exchanging flirtatious messages or even nude pictures via social media or text can also be considered cheating. Even though you haven’t committed infidelity in person, cyber infidelity is a valid reason for your partner to accuse you of cheating on them.

6/6

Object affair

This may seem tricky a little bit but pursuing an object of interest to a point of near-obsession may also be termed as infidelity. If it is causing you to neglect your relationship to a grave extent, then your partner will feel hurt as you’re prioritizing that interest way more than the relationship.
