Here's what they had to say

Love is complicated and when a woman loves you, she is all in – a popular belief, that scorned women would tell you, which is something that is wired in females! Many women are often cheated on by their husbands but they choose to stay back. Such wives are judged by others. But the reality is that none of us can put ourselves in their shoes until we have first-hand experience. Without taking sides, here are some first-hand confessions by such women which they shared with us anonymously. Do you relate to them? Do share your opinion in the comments section.

It made my friend feel powerful over the other woman

It is highly complex if you think from the woman's point of view. My friend felt powerful over the other woman. It is sad but very true. Her logic was that she knew her husband would rather be with others and sleep around but as long as he turns the key and comes back home to play the husband role, it's was a constant reminder to the other women that she will always be his first priority.

She knew that her husband is sleeping around and it was draining. She threw all her self respect, self-esteem, and confidence, among other things, out the window. She wanted to keep the family they created and the one she had blended into, the foundation they built, memories, money, house, cars and kids. No matter how much it hurt her to do so, she just could not imagine another woman living the life she is supposed to have.

I could not relate to what she told me but I could not put myself in her shoes.

Because I was unable to accept it

We believe all the lies they tell us when we bust them. Facing the fact they don’t love us hurts too damn much and we want to believe we can fix things. We overlook the fact that love and respect go hand in hand and even if there were problems the respect alone should have kept him from straying. We believe all the crap people write about better and stronger marriages after infidelity and think we can be one of them. Guess what, that’s one in a million. Because they were soooooooo sincere in their remorse, they actually cried! We are so traumatized from finding out we can’t see through the acting job…

It wasn’t my husband’s fault but the mistress’

For a long time, my mind was in denial. I blamed that mistress of his instead of accepting that my husband was the ass…e here! I kept saying that she bewitched him! The truth is that my husband was at fault. He was the one committed, not that woman!

I thought I could still fix things

I was a damn fool thinking I could fix things after my husband's long-term affair. I did everything possible. Romantic getaways, spiced up the sex like crazy, worked to correct all his pet peeves with me, you name it. I really believed he stayed because he genuinely wanted to work it out, I went off on his mistress staking my claim thinking I was actually winning something and for 2 years I put myself through the humiliation of trying to be the perfect wife to keep him.

Turns out it was a love affair, not just some sex thing, he was intimate with her a couple of times after d-day when we were supposed to be fixing things and more and more things became clear as time went on and I found some additional long-hidden evidence of how serious it really was. He stayed for the kids and did not want the mess and financial ruin of a divorce.

However, I finally saw through things and ended it. I just wish he would have been honest years ago before the affair or at the very least when he was busted. I don’t think I will ever really be able to let go of the disgust I feel for him for doing this to me for so long and for years of my life wasted. The kids and I are fine and I never outed him to them although I’m sure they suspect it. I got my revenge in the financial settlement.
