I celebrate all you do, to grow into your greatness," he wrote in a recent post. And rightly so, as many people want to be happy and successful but not many are able to be so. Recently, Robin Sharma took to social media wherein he shared nine simple yet effective habits for a meaningful life. Here's what they are:

2/10

"Get up at 5am"

Waking up at 5am or the Brahma Muhurat, as per Hindu traditions, is often said to be one of the key habits of highl successful people. Quiet early mornings give people to work on kick-start their day on the right not. Slow and serene mornings are the perfect time to work on yourself and focus on things that truly matter in life, be it yoga, meditation, exercise, journaling or simply making a todo list. Waking up early gives you time to be present and mindful, thus preventing unnecessary stress.

3/10

"Meditate"

Meditation is a powerful practice that helps one be both successful and happier in life. By calming the mind, meditation helps in reducing stress, improves focus, and sharpens one's decision-making skills— all of which are essential traits for achieving your goals. Regular meditation also boosts emotional resilience, helping individuals manage challenges with clarity and balance instead of feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges. It enhances self-awareness, allowing one to align actions with values and long-term aspirations. Beyond professional success, meditation also helps build inner peace, gratitude, and positivity, which helps create healthier relationships and overall well-being.

4/10

"Keep a journal"

Though a simple habit, journaling is a powerful tool that can help one destress, be more mindful, thoughtful and grateful for what they have in life. Writing daily and jotting down one's thoughts has several benefits, like-- it helps clear one's mental clutter, organise their thoughts, and set clear priorities which boosts productivity and stay focussed on goals. Journaling also gives one space for self-reflection, helping one understand their patterns, and work on their strengths and weaknesses. Gratitude journaling, in particular, shifts focus toward positivity. This increases happiness and emotional resilience in the long run.

5/10

"Drink more water"

Considering the fast-paced lives we lead, we often forget to stay consistent with our diets and in the long run this can negatively impact our overall health. Taking small breaks frequently and drinking more water helps one stay hydrated and healthy. Aim to drink atleast 2 litres of water daily for proper functioning of the body, especially the kidneys that help detox the body by removing toxins.

6/10

"Walk in nature daily"

This might sound simple, but it is one of the simplest and most effective way to destress after a long and hectic day and be happier. The mind instantly feels calmer and more relaxed when surrounded by greenery, fresh air, and natural light. This gentle exercise improves one's cardiovascular health, strengthens muscles, and supports overall fitness. Beyond physical benefits, walking in nature also reduces stress hormones, lowers anxiety, and uplifts mood by releasing endorphins-- the feel good hormones. They also enhance focus and creativity, giving the brain a refreshing reset. So, take some time out every day to disconnect from screens and connect with nature.

7/10

"Let go of the past"

Letting go isn’t about forgetting what happened— instead it is all about choosing peace over pain, and freedom over regret.
Holding on to regrets, mistakes, or painful memories only weighs you down and blocks growth. But, when you choose to let go and release the past hurts, you free yourself from the mental and emotional pain and instead focus on the present moment and live a more fulfilling life. Forgiveness, acceptance, and being kind to yourself are powerful tools that help break the cycle of negativity and be happier in life.

8/10

"Smile at strangers"

Smiling is one of the simplest, yet effective ways to feel good instantly. Have you ever noticed how smiling, even when you don't feel like, instantly uplifts your mood. Moreover, smiling at strangers and being kind to others makes one feel good about themselves too. So, be kind and smile at strangers often-- it doesn't cost a penny and can help you feel happier.

9/10

"Read more books"

Reading has many benefits-- it helps you destress, calm the mind, improve your vocabulary, increase your worldview, etc. In fact, many successful billionaires are often avid readers and people like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, etc are proof of this. So, make it a daily habit to read a few pages every day and see how it improves your life.

10/10

"Say thank you a lot"

It is often said that your attitude determines your altitude in life, and rightly so. Having an attitude of gratitude, and saying thank you a lot not only helps build and nurture loving and peaceful relationships, but it also shifts your mindset to look at the positive things in life.
