Saurabh Netravalkar

Indian-origin cricketer who is currently playing for the USA team, Saurabh Netravalkar is much in the news these days-- all due to his outstanding performance in the T20 World Cup 2024. Saurabh is not just an accomplished professional cricketer, but also a full-time techie who works at Oracle. In a country where cricket is no less than a religion and where most young men dream to be a cricketer, Saurabh is living this Indian dream along with making it big in the US thus also accomplishing his American dream. Believe in your dreams and work hard

Just like most young Indian men, Saurabh too dreamt of becoming a professional cricketer. Born on October 16, 1991, he started his cricket journey by representing India in the U-19 team and making his domestic debut for Mumbai in 2013. He believed in his dreams of making it big in the world of cricket and continued to work hard on it.

Have a don't give up attitude

Saurabh continued to pursue his dream to make it big in cricket along with his studies. He studied engineering at the Sardar Patel Institute of Technology in Mumbai. In 2013, he also made his debut in first-class domestic cricket for Mumbai in Ranji trophy 2013-14. In 2015, he moved to the US to pursue his master's in engineering from Cornell University but he didn't let his passion and love for cricket die. Instead, he continued to work on it and later got selected in the US cricket team. This shows how his perseverance and don't give-up attitude helped him achieve his dream.

If plan A fails, have a plan B

It is noted that when Saurabh couldn't make it too big in the Indian cricketing world, he worked on his plan B of having a stable career. He focused on his studies and completed his education in engineering. In 2015, he moved to the USA for his Master's and later started working at Oracle as an engineer. Meanwhile, he also didn't lose his passion for cricket and continued to excel in the sport. This teaches one to have a positive mindset and continue to grow in life, regardless of the setbacks. It also teaches us that if plan A fails, one shouldn't get too disheartened and instead work on plan B. Maybe that would work out better.

Have a work-life balance

Apart from excelling in his work as a full-time techie and becoming a professional cricketer, Saurabh Netravalkar also has interests in yoga, music, traveling, and playing the ukulele. He often posts regularly about these interests of his on social media. This teaches one to have a life outside of their work. Having hobbies helps one relax and recharge so that they can perform better professionally. In the long run, having a healthy work-life balance is imperative to be successful in life.

Work on yourself and live life to the fullest

Saurabh Netravalkar played domestic cricket before moving to the US, where he continued to work on his sport. His recent achievements in the T20 World Cup 2024 show that his persistence and hard work on himself has finally paid off.
