What is Brahma Muhurta and its importance

Brahma Muhurta is the sacred time of early morning, roughly 1 hour 36 minutes before sunrise, usually between 4:00 am and 5:30 am, depending on the season. In Ayurveda and yogic tradition, this is considered the most auspicious period for spiritual practices, learning, meditation, and creative work.In this quiet window, the mind is naturally calm, the environment is pure, and the body’s energies are balanced, making meditation, prayer, reading, or creative work especially effective. Ayurveda believes that waking up in Brahma Muhurta strengthens digestion, sharpens focus, and enhances overall wellbeing. In a recent video on Instagram, the handle raaikotha that expertise in shakti yoga, motivation, and wellness shared about five things one can do during Brahma Muhurta for 21 days to transform their life.

Meditate

It is recommended to meditate after taking the shower during the Brahma Muhurta. To meditate means to quiet the mind and bring your attention to the present moment. It helps reduce stress, improves focus, and creates a sense of inner calm. Whether through deep breathing, chanting, or simply observing your thoughts, meditation trains the mind to stay centred. Just a few minutes a day can make you feel more balanced, relaxed, and mentally clear.

Read or hear knowledge

It is also suggested to read your favourite book or spiritual lessons during this time. One can also indulge in hearing mantras of bhajans during this hour to bring in positive thoughts.

4/6

Plan your day

It is also suggested to pen down the tasks you have to complete during the day. Writing down the tasks and planning the time management during this time helps you avoid chaos or clashes and you tend to prepare yourself in the right manner with the right frame of mind for the tasks of the day.

5/6

Introspect

The calmness and peace during the Brahma Muhurta helps you analyze your activities and actions in context to your goals and ambitions of life. To introspect also means to look inward and examine your own thoughts, feelings, and motivations. It helps you understand why you behave the way you do and what you truly want. Through introspection, you become more self-aware, make better decisions, and grow emotionally. It’s a personal pause that brings clarity and strengthens your relationship with yourself.

Remember your parents, guru, and god

As per experts, it is the powerful time to remember your loved ones, your teacher, guide, and your almighty. It is said that wishes made for your loved ones during this hour are very powerful and help you attain them. It is also the right time to thank the universe for helping you attain your goals and seek guidance for a successful day ahead.
