Lord Hanuman

Lord Hanuman, a God who is a devotee before he is a God, is the epitome of love, devotion, control, strength, and sheer knowledge. He is the mighty devotee of Lord Ram who would do anything for his ‘Prabhu’ and listens intently to his devotees, helping them in life and through the tough phases. And for worshipping Lord Hanuman, Tuesday and Saturday are said to be the best days, when his energies are at their peak. And so, here we mention 6 things to do on a Tuesday to get his blessings.

2/7

Take the name of Lord Ram

It is often said that Lord Hanuman is in every gathering where the name of Lord Ram is being chanted. He is Lord Ram’s greatest devotee and does not accept any offerings unless they are first dedicated to Lord Rama. And so, by doing Ram naam jaap on every Tuesday, you can attract the blessings of Lord Hanuman. Just wake up early, cleanse yourself, and start taking Lord Ram’s name in any form you know.

3/7

Recite Hanuman chalisa

Hanuman chalisa, the 40-verse prayer that is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, his nature, his virtues, his achievements, and more, is said to be the perfect guide to knowing Lord Hanuman and being closer to him and his energies. And thus, it is said that one should do a paath of Hanuman Chalisa on every Tuesday. And for people who are comfortable in chanting the Bajrang Baan, a mix of Hanuman Chalisa followed by the Bajrang Baan can do wonders.

4/7

Feed the monkeys

Lord Hanuman is often shown as the God with a monkey-like face. Even in the Ramayan, Lord Hanuman has a ‘vanar sena’, an army of monkeys that helped him through the journey. And thus, it is said that feeding the monkeys on Tuesday invites the blessings of Lord Hanuman. People usually offer fruits like bananas or apples to the monkeys or even jaggery to appease them.

5/7

Offer Boondi for prasad

One of the most distributed prasad on Tuesday is undoubtedly Boondi, which is a sweet made with gram flour. It is said that offering Boondi to Lord Hanuman and to other devotees is a good way to attract the blessings of Lord Hanuman. Many believe that offering Boondi to Lord Hanuman is a way to appease Mangal, or Mars, the ruling planet.

6/7

Maintain Brahmacharya

Lord Hanuman is known as ‘Baal brahmachari’ or a child celibate. He has maintained a life of discipline, purity, and self-control, and thus it is said to be important to observe Brahmacharya, not just on Tuesday, but in general to appease Lord Hanuman. It is important to practice self-control and avoid habits like overeating, gossiping, excess lust, greed, or anger, and the likes. .

7/7

Help someone in need

Lord Hanuman was ready to give his life for Lord Ram and Lakshman, he scaled mountains to reach Mata Sita, and all his life he served Lord Ram without expectin anything in return. And his life was all about selfless service, helping someone in need on a Tuesday, or any day in general, is believed to invite Lord Hanuman’s blessings. Help someone in financial trouble, donate food, clothes, or money, or help an injured or sick animal who needs help.
