Mahabharata war

The Mahabharata is an ancient Indian epic, which tells the take of the Kurukshetra War fought between two brother clans, the Pandavas and the Kauravas. ​Answers

1. The common teacher of both Kauravas and Pandavas was Guru Dronacharya. 2. The Kaurava who did not fight against Pandavas, but rather with them, was Yuyutsu. Yuyutsu believed that he should side with Dharma. 3. Karna, the son of Surya, was born with precious stones (Kavach-Kundal) on his body, but was abandoned by his mother as he was born out of wedlock. 4. It was because of Shakuni and his faulty dice that the Pandavas lost the game and had to go into exile. 5. The Mahabharata war went on for 18 days. 6. The curse of immortality was given to Ashwatthama by Shri Krishna because he tried to kill the unborn baby of Uttara. 7. The name of the conch blown at the start of the Mahabharata war was ‘Panchjanya’. 8. The special weapon given to Arjuna by Lord Shiva was called Pashupatastra. 9. Gandhari’s curse to Krishna was that his clan will vanish by fighting with each other and he will die an animal’s death. The curse did come true and the Yadava clan perished while fighting each other and Krishna was shot an arrow by a hunter thinking that his foot was a deer.
