Who is Maa Baglamukhi?

The name of a Goddess that you would most likely have heard before elections or a major political event is Maa Baglamukhi. She is the eighth goddess among the Das Mahavidyas, the ten fierce wisdom goddesses in Hinduism, and her name literally means ‘the one who restrains’. She is the Goddess who has the power and ability to control or silence one’s enemies, especially those who try to harm you through speech, lies, or legal entanglements.
Maa Baglamukhi is also famous as the goddess of ‘Stambhana’, someone who can make the enemy still and immobile.
