A blend of Hindustani classical soul with global sounds in Pune
Mahesh Kale ’s Infusion arrived in Pune as an expansive musical conversation, where Hindustani classical roots met global sounds without compromise. Against a backdrop of piano, guitars, drums and flute, Kale guided the audience through an immersive set that shifted effortlessly between tradition and reimagination.

The evening unfurled with contemplative melodies drawing from classical raagas before moving into pieces that resonated with contemporary sensibilities. Standout moments included his stirring rendition of Phir le aaya dil .., where the familiar tune wove through layers of textured instrumentation, and a powerful fusion where Ghei Chhand Makarand met Aandhi Banke Aaya ,creating a bridge between centuries-old classical lyricism with modern sonic depth. Kale also paused to reflect on the project’s intent, saying, “Infusion is music reaching out beyond its traditional base, inviting hearts to meet where meaning transcends labels.”
