A long-distance kissing device has the internet divided!
One of the worst things about being in a long-distance relationship is the lack of physical intimacy with your partner. A Chinese man, Jiang Zhongli, was also facing this struggle while he was away from his girlfriend. Communicating over the phone was just not enough for him. This is what drove Zhongli to develop a technology that enables couples to share virtual intimacy - a kissing device.
As a result of his efforts, the ‘kissing device,’ was invented at a university in Changzhou, China, says reports. The device has ‘silicone lips,’ pressure sensors and actuators, and can replicate the pressure, movement, and temperature of real lips.According to Chinese media, the device can mimic a real kiss - not just the feel, but also the sound!!
But the device has the internet divided. One user pointed out how this is eerily similar to an episode in the popular sitcom Big Bang Theory, where one of the lead actors, Howard introduced a “kissing machine" to his friends Leonard and Raj. While Leonard refrained from trying it, Raj said, “I’m impressed. This is very lifelike.”
While many other users called it “creepy” and “vulgar”, one user found it shocking.
