Helping maintain menstrual hygiene in Kashmir

Srinagar’s Mehran Khan’s organisation has been actively delivering ration boxes since the past few weeks to the people in need in Srinagar and Bargam in Jammu and Kashmir. “Around 50-60 families living in the area where we cater have received our ration boxes which have 4 packets of sanitary napkins along with items like rice, tea, sugar, detergent and soap etc. While the napkins were a part of these boxes we found out that there were a lot of women in the quarantine facilities, health centers and in police services. There were a few international students too in the quarantine facility setup by the government who were in need of sanitary pads and they were finding difficult to procure. So we decided to help them too with extra sanitary napkins. Till now we have distributed more than 1000 pads and are trying to arrange more for the women in need.” Shares Mehran Khan.
