5 beautiful street arts and graffiti you can spot across India

Street art and graffiti are unique ways to express art. They bring dull city walls to life with color, creativity, and culture. These artworks represent the diversity and stories of a community, making the city more interesting. They can share powerful messages and make people think differently. Overall, street art and graffiti not only make the city beautiful but also encourage conversations and let people express themselves freely in their community.

Created by Shilo Shiv Suleman, this artwork was done on the streets of Jaipur in honour and love of the Queer community. Her organization, The Fearless Collective wrote on Instagram, “Through this public art intervention- we explored a spectrum of masculinities. In a city where men are trained for war and bound by duty, we untied our tongues- as lovers by affirming how we love and who we love.”

Created by Yantr, the artwork was uploaded with the title, ‘Opening the door of knowledge’. A part of the Shillong Street Art festival, the artwork depicts a little girl opening a door similar to a bookshelf with tons of books that will further impart knowledge. Beyond the door is the clear sky, possibly depicting an open ground of wisdom.

Located somewhere on the streets of Delhi, featuring a girl doning a hoodie, chunky glasses and a beanie cap, the artwork speaks for itself and tells a lot about the artist. Created by Kajal Singh, popularly known as Dizyone, the artwork shows her carefree spirit and cheerful nature. She described the work on her Instagram as, “This is ten percent luck, Twenty percent skill, Fifteen percent concentrated power of will, Five percent pleasure, Fifty percent pain and a hundred percent reason to remember the name.” Majority of her artwork features her name or signature in the background or on the characters.

In the artwork created in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, artist Amitabh Kumar explores the relationship between humans and natural, farm-based produce. On his Instagram, Kumar writes, “ 'Ganna Khaoge?' celebrates the raw relationship that we have with natural produce by evoking the local and rooted way of consuming sugarcane, Uttar Pradesh's primary cash crop. The project takes the viewer closer to the ground, the smell of the earth, the clenching of the teeth, the peeling of the bark.”

The Bollywood Art Project, an organisation under artist Ranjit Dahiya is responsible for one of the best artworks on the streets of Mumbai. From cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar to movie stars like Rishi Kapoor, Dahiya has conquered it all. In this artwork Dahiya and his team feature Late legendary singer, Shri Lata Mangeshkar in her natural avatar. Smiling and radiating positive vibes.
