Painting styles for home

A home is not just 4 walls, bricks, mortar, and paint. It is also an expression of who we are, what our style is, how we see life, and also, our personalities. A home that houses people who are cruel and dismissive will seldom have any life or energy to it, but there will be another filled with love, warmth, and all things earthy.
And so for a quick refresh to the walls, here are 6 wall paintings and styles that will breathe life into any home.

2/7

Buddha paintings

To breathe life into your home and a sense of spirituality, a Buddha painting is the way to go. It usually shows Lord Buddha in the Abhay mudra, and has a very serene and calming energy to it, and thus can be kept in any of the rooms, be it the hall or the drawing room.
Make sure to buy or commission a painting of Lord Buddha that is Vastu friendly, with him sitting under a tree in a calm posture, and this won’t just beautify the walls but also bring in positive energy and a minimal decor.

3/7

Madhubani paintings

Madhubani, the folk art from Bihar, is known for its detailing, imagery, bright and beautiful colours, as well as the use of natural dyes and its topics that range from mythology to nature elements.
Madhubani paintings on the wall will not just add a splash of colour to the walls, but also will be culturally beautiful and support local artists.

4/7

Impressionist portraits

From the canvas and style of Claude Monet came ‘Impressionism’, an art style and movement that had loose brushstrokes, blurry lines, and beauty in every inch and canvas. There was the movement of light and shadow, capturing the fleeting moments, and of course, beauty in the portraits. And if you have an impressionist portrait or painting on the walls, your style is for sure immaculate. It is soft, earthy, and not heavily detailed, but still has a charm of its own.

5/7

Flowing water paintings

Paintings of rivers, waterfalls, and streams bring a sense of flow and movement into the home, and are also considered excellent in Vastu and Feng shui. Across beliefs, flowing water is a symbol of flowing positive energy, and negativity does not stay in the homes.
So for the bedroom or the living room, choose a bright and beautiful painting of a waterfall or one that shows a moving stream, and it will help refresh you mentally.

6/7

Mandala art

Mandala patterns were all the rage a few years ago, and while they have lost their charm now, they are still timeless options for paintings and wall art. And to put a cherry on top of the cake, Mandala wall art can be painted at home too with the right print and colour.
The repetitive patterns, circles, and other designs give a nice, peaceful appeal to the rooms, and the bright colours are simply a delight.

7/7

Abstract art

Abstract patterns also do well when it comes to wall art, and can be hung up in small frames across the wall, or with one single painting. And because abstract art isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, there is a minimal chance that someone else might have the same painting or wall art at their home.
So if you love a modern design and minimal element, go for abstract prints.
