Auli, Uttarakhand

Auli is a small town in Uttarakhand, famous for its skiing slopes among the tourists. This town also hosts a lot of snow adventure events and people can also take skiing lessons here. Auli isn’t just known as Mini Switzerland of India in name, it also justifies the name with its beautiful landscapes and chilly climate. A perfect place for someone looking to do some adventure activities but also seeking peace.

Khajjiar, Himachal Pradesh

Khajjiar is a land shaped in the form of a saucer, located on the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges of the Western Himalayas. This place is surrounded by serene landscapes with dense pine and deodar forests and has also been designated as “Mini Switzerland.” It serves as the starting point for treks to Chamba, Dalhousie, and Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary among others. You can even walk around the Khajjiar Lake while looking at the lush greenery around you.

Located in Uttarakhand’s Bageshwar district, this serene hill station more than earns its place on any travel list. At sunrise, the mountains light up in a soft golden glow—perfect for those postcard-worthy photos. It’s also a haven for bird-watchers, with over 50 species fluttering through the crisp mountain air, adding melody to the stillness. The famous Bollywood movie “Koi Mil Gaya” (2003) was mostly shot in Nainital, Bhimtal, and Kausani.

Yes if you dont have enough money you can go to these places but given a choice most people will opt for Switzerland.
