Travel influencer Shenaz Treasury recommends these 6 places women must travel to in 2026; safe and solo-friendly

The room was buzzing with the familiar excitement. It was because the discussion was around dreams of distant beaches, misty hills, and cultures waiting to be explored. At a Skyscanner event in New Delhi recently, in the presence of Neel Ghose (Travel Trends and Destinations Expert, Skyscanner) and India’s beloved traveller influencer Shenaz Treasury, the discussion soon drifted toward one of the most crucial travel questions: Where can women travel safely in 2026?

Shenaz (VJ, actor, and India’s most loved travel storyteller) her answer felt like a bucket list for me. With the confidence of a girl who quit her job and left a successful acting and television career most people dream of, her words landed simply yet powerfully. She shared destinations that are not just beautiful, but safe for women travellers.

“Indians love to travel. We are everywhere.” And so are women; beautiful, independent, curious and fearless. The best part, her recommendations weren’t just about places, they reflected a mindset, a belief system that women don’t need to choose between safety and travel.

Shenaz recommended — Munnar (Kerala), Fort Kochi (Kerala), Meghalaya, the Andamans, Nagaland, Phuket, and Vietnam.

Let’s have a closer look at why these destinations score high:

2/8

Munnar (Kerala)

Munnar is among those few places in India that proves safety doesn’t always mean crowds; sometimes, it means calm and peace. It is among the most beautiful hill stations not only in Kerala but across India. The town is known for its rolling tea estates and crisp mountain air. This is the place one goes to in search of peace of mind. For women travellers, who are concerned about safety, it offers familiarity and welcoming locals. The hill station has a culture that respects visitors, be it men or women, making solo trips comfortable.

3/8

Fort Kochi (Kerala)

Munnar is among those few places in India that proves safety doesn’t always mean crowds; sometimes, it means calm and peace. It is among the most beautiful hill stations not only in Kerala but across India. The town is known for its rolling tea estates and crisp mountain air. This is the place one goes to in search of peace of mind. For women travellers, who are concerned about safety, it offers familiarity and welcoming locals. The hill station has a culture that respects visitors, be it men or women, making solo trips comfortable.

4/8

Meghalaya

Also known as the Scotland of the East, Meghalaya is all about gorgeous waterfalls, misty hills, and of course the living root bridges. This is one of the states where nature protects in ways one can only dream of. But what truly stands out is its women-driven society. The Khasi and Garo communities here have women playing central roles in the families. And that’s why women travellers feel safe here. They are treated with respect and normalcy. Places like Shillong, and Mawlynnong are gaining popularity among women explorers who value safety.

5/8

Nagaland

Nagaland is among the most stunning Indian states which is not on every travel list. And that is exactly what makes the place so special and all the more inviting. Kohima and Dimapur have community bonds which are strong. People here treat visitors with warmth, especially Women travellers. Locals often protect and help them. And how can we not mention the Hornbill Festival which attracts travellers from across the globe.

6/8

The Andamans

The Andamans is the place where safety meets solitude, a balance women travellers mostly seek. The place is all about world-class beaches and strict local regulations. Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep are known for being safe where people can enjoy a range of interesting water activities including snorkeling and scuba diving, among others.

7/8

Phuket (Thailand)

For women planning an international trip in 2026, Phuket in Thailand makes the best choice. It is among Southeast Asia’s most woman-friendly destinations. A woman-friendly tropical beauty, Phuket is known for women-centric accommodations. There are wellness retreats which offer therapeutic healing. Women can enjoy water activities and go on island hopping tours. This is a place where independence feels a part of life.

8/8

Vietnam

Vietnam is another destination that women travellers can plan a trip to in 2026. It is gaining popularity among solo women explorers for all good reasons. Places like Hanoi and Hoi An are a perfect combination of affordability and safety. The street food culture is another thing that is worth mentioning. Public transport is easy and walking around at night also feels normal and safe. Vietnam offers the confidence of being welcomed, not watched or followed.
