Ahmedabad Police Traffic advisory: Routes diverted near Narendra Modi Stadium for T20 World Cup 2026 Final; know alternate roads
Today (Sunday) is the much-awaited ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Final match between India and New Zealand. The match is scheduled to take place at Ahmedabad’s iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. To watch the final battle between the teams, thousands of cricket fans are expected to be at the venue. To keep things under control, the city police have planned temporary road closures and diversions to manage the traffic and safety of all.

The stadium, also the world’s largest cricket arena, has a seating capacity of over 130,000 spectators. The place is expected to experience heavy movement of spectators and VIPs today.
The Ahmedabad Police shared a traffic advisory on its social media X, informing that the traffic on certain roads around the stadium will either be restricted or diverted during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup India-2026 final match.
“નરેન્દ્ર મોદી સ્ટેડિયમ” ખાતે ની ICC Men’s T20 World Cup India-2026 ની ફાઇનલ મેચ દરમ્યાન જણાવેલ માર્ગ પરથી પસાર થતો ટ્રાફિક વાહનોની અવર જવર માટે પ્રતિબંધિત/ડાયવર્ઝન કરવામાં આવે છે.”

Affected Roads:
As per a notification from Police Commissioner GS Malik, the roads that will be closed to regular traffic are:
Janpath T-junction to the stadium’s main gate
Krupa Residency T-junction to Motera Gam T-junction
Timings:
The restrictions will remain in place from around 10 AM on March 8 until midnight
Some traffic controls will extend into the early hours of March 9.
Alternate routes
Those coming from Tapovan and nearby regions are advised to go via Tapovan Circle, ONGC Crossroads, Visat T-junction, Janpath T-junction, Powerhouse Crossroads, and Prabodh Raval Circle.
For motorists coming through Krupa T-junction, they are advised to use routes via Sharan Status Crossroads and Bhat-Koteshwar Road toward Apollo Circle.

Fire brigade
Police vehicles
Access to the abovementioned road will be limited and additional traffic personnel will be deployed around the stadium.
