Hrudayat Something Something Movie Review {2/5}: Critic Review of Hrudayat Something Something by Times of India

Story: Sam (Aniket Vishwasrao) an irresponsible, yet efficient employee in a travel company falls in love with Priya (Sneha Chavan). His boss Jawalkar (Ashok Saraf) promises to help him woo the girl, provided he starts working more responsibly. But soon Jawalkar realises that Sam is in love with his daughter.Review: Sam often bunks work to support his philandering ways until one day when he falls in love with Priya. Wanting to woo her, he once again lies to Jawalkar asking for a leave, only to be caught red handed. When he comes clean about his feelings for Priya, Jawalkar agrees to help him pursue the woman of his dreams.So far, fine. However, the movie takes a Golmaal (1979) like turn with Sam pretending to have a twin who is courting Priya, because Sam knows that his boss would never agree for their union. But when a real lookalike of his comes into the picture (rather suddenly) chaos ensues.The director has tried to mix multiple plots together giving justice to none. Done to death jokes coupled with a weak and unoriginal story make the film fall flat. Even at 2 hours 12 minutes, the film feels stretched.For the bit which seems to be influenced by Golmaal, Ashok Saraf and Aniket Vishwasrao step into Utpal Dutt and Amol Palekar’s shoes, but fail make a cut. Saraf seems brings back his characteristic 90s style of acting back and is alright. But Aniket, who was good in his last release, Maska, fails to create an impression. The lackluster script is partially to blame too.The movie slips on many fronts – the execution, confusing mish mash of stories and a rather mediocre performance by the lead pair. You can give this one a miss.
