Memphis Indian cultural centre and temple celebrates Brahmotsavam with pomp and fervour

MEMPHIS: The Indian Cultural Centre and Temple (

ICCT

) in Memphis, Tennessee celebrated Brahmotsavam between September 21 and 30 amidst grandeur. Day long Vahana Sevas including Homam, Procession, Prasadam and Flowers were performed every evening during these days as a sign of obeisance to Lord Venkateshwara.

All the festivities were conducted in the similar manner as is done in Tirumala.

A special attraction -

Bathukamma

- was witnessed inside the temple premises on September 23. The Telangana floral festival which entered the third year of its celebration, is predominantly performed by the Hindu women dressed up in traditional saris combed with ethnic collections of jewels and other accessories.





The Bathukamma was decorated with exquisite flowers of different colors and varieties.

The event was organized by ICCT in association with the Telugu Association of Memphis volunteers. The temple venue laid perfect platform to showcase the concept of Unity in Diversity through different traditions of the Indian culture.



During the festive period, ICCT also worshipped the nine forms of Shakti, Goddess Durga with celebrations taking place in the form of Ras-Garba.
Dandiya - a traditional folk dance of Vrindavan was also performed by men and women dressed in colorful attire, dancing to some foot-tapping numbers in utmost pomp and fervor bringing the real essence of Navratri celebrations.
