Hyderabad Water Board's Tanker Owners’ association, which is serving potable water through their tankers, is worried about the fuel price hike. The association is plying nearly 900 tankers on hire basis, to meet the demand in the existing tanker tariff, which was fixed in 2017. The association’s demand is, though, the fuel prices are increasing daily, but the Hyderabad Water Board officials are not enhancing the tanker tariff and as a result, the tanker owners are unable to bear the expenditure of wages of tanker crews.
