Raksha Bandhan 2022: Raksha Bandhan is a very big festival which is widely celebrated across the world by Hindus. People celebrate this festival with great zeal. Raksha Bandhan falls on Purnima Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Shravana. This year, Raksha Bandhan is going to be celebrated on 11th and 12th August, 2022.

Raksha Bandhan 2022 Story from HistoryThe festival of Raksha Bandhan in Bundelkhand gives a unique message of communal harmony. Maharani Laxmi Bai in the revolution of 1857, she had sought help from Nawab Ali Bahadur by sending a Rakhi. Nawab Ali Bahadur accepted the Rakhi and gave her the status of his sister. He had reached Jhansi along with his 10,000 soldiers to fight against Firangis in order to honor the sister’s Rakhi. Nawab Ali Bahadur was the son of Bajirao Peshwa and Mastani and he fulfilled his responsibility as a brother and helped Rani Laxmi Bai on her call to fight against the firangis.
Raksha Bandhan 2022 Rituals1. All women and girls wake up early in the morning.

9. Brothers in return give a present or gift to their sisters as a token of affection or respect.
10. Younger brothers even take blessings from their sisters by touching their feet.
11. Sisters also gift something to their brothers such as Clothes, Wallet, any Gadget which their brother likes.
12. Girls can break their fast after Rakhi celebration.
13. Women even prepare delicious satvik food as they observe fast.
