As per legends, it is believed that Lord Krishna the eight incarnation of Lord Vishnu killed the demon Narkasura on Vishu. On this propitious day, people wake up early in the morning, take bathe and wear new clothes. They visit the prominent temples such as Sabrimala Ayappa temple and Guruvayoor Sri Krishna temple to seek blessings from the Lord. People even decorate their house with lights, rangoli and flowers.
