When Lord Surya became Hanuman’s Guru: The timeless teachings of the Sun God
The relationship between Lord Surya and Hanuman is one of the most inspiring examples of devotion, discipline, and the search for knowledge in all of Hindu mythology. Hanuman is known as a great devotee of Lord Rama, but not many people know that Surya, the Sun God, was his teacher and helped him grow in both his mind and spirit.
Hanuman went to see Lord Surya, the god of light who makes the world bright, to look for the best teacher in the whole world. At first, Surya, who rides his heavenly chariot across the sky all the time, said he couldn't stop to teach even for a second.
Hanuman had a great idea for how to learn. He started flying next to the Sun, facing Surya and moving backwards across the sky. He paid close attention to everything he learned. Surya took him on as a student because he was so dedicated.
Hanuman learned from the Sun God that even though he was very strong, he should be humble. He said that it is very important to have self-control, discipline, and the responsibility that comes with knowing things. Surya also told Hanuman that the real power comes from doing the right thing and standing up for what is right.
These lessons made Hanuman a smart and kind warrior who later played a big part in the Ramayana.
Hanuman kept his word and was a good friend and minister to Sugriva. This connection helped Hanuman meet Lord Rama and fight Ravana later on.
Hanuman's journey shows us that even the strongest beings must bow to knowledge. This is a lesson for a lot of people who want to get closer to God. It also shows us that the only way to really become enlightened is to be humble, disciplined, and devoted.
