Ekadashi in October 2023: Ekadashi holds an importance in Hindu religion. This day is considered to be the most auspicious day. Ekadashi falls twice in a month, once during Shukla Paksha and another in Krishna Paksha. Ekadashi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and devotees offer special prayers to Lord Vishnu on this auspicious day and they observe fast.

Ekadashi in October 2023: Significance

Ekadashi holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. This day is observed by all Vaishnav devotees. Lord Vishnu is worshipped on this auspicious day. Devotees observe fast, offer prayers and seek blessings of Lord Vishnu. There are total 24 Ekadashi observances in a year. It is believed that people who observe fast on Ekadashi day, get blessed by Lord Vishnu with al the worldly pleasures and happiness. These people get salvation after death and directly goes to Vaikunth Dham, an abode of Lord Vishnu.

1. Wake up early in the morning at the time of Brahm Muhurat and take a holy bath.
2. Offer water to Lord Surya and clean the house and puja room.
3. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Vishnu. Give bath to Laddoo Gopal Ji.
4. Light a diya with pure cow ghee, put tilak to Lord Vishnu, offer flowers or garland, offer fruits, home made sweets like panjiri or halwa.
5. Offer Panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, sugar powder and honey).

6. Devotees make sure to offer a tulsi Patra to Lord Vishnu as without offering it puja is considered incomplete but do not pluck tulsi patra on the day of Ekadashi so better you keep it a day before.
7. Recite Ekadashi Katha, Vishnu Sahastranaam and chant "Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye".
8. Devotees can break their on Dwadashi Tithi (next day of Ekadashi during Parana Time).
9. Those who are unable to observe a fast, they can offer prayers to Lord Vishnu on this day and seek blessings.
