Ekadashi is one of the most auspicious days in Hindu religion. This day is dedicated to offer prayers to Lord Vishnu. They worship Lord Vishnu with immense devotion and dedication. Jaya Ekadashi is observed on Ekadashi Tithi (11th day) of Shukla Paksha in the month of Magha. This month, the Jaya Ekadashi fast is being observed today i.e., January 29, 2026.

Jaya Ekadashi 2026: Significance

Ekadashi is the most prominent day to honor Lord Vishnu. There are 24 Ekadashi observances in a year and it falls twice a month during Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha. This time, Jaya Ekadashi is being observed that holds a great spiritual and religious significance among Hindus. The devotees of Lord Vishnu, observe a strict fast and offer prayers to the Lord on this day. Jaya Ekadashi is considered to be very fortunate and meritorious for devotees, who fast and perform all of the puja rituals associated with Lord Vishnu. It is believed that devotees who observe the Jaya Ekadashi fast with the utmost devotion and sincerity will be granted prosperity, happiness, and all worldly pleasures.

Jaya Ekadashi 2026: Puja Rituals

1. Take a holy bath in the morning2. Clean the house and especially puja room.
3. Place an idol of Lord Vishnu and Shree Yantra (a manifestation of Goddess Laxmi) on a wooden plank.4. Light a diya with desi ghee and offer flowers, tulsi patra, and home made sweets.5. Devotees recite Lord Vishnu mantras 108 times to invoke the idol.7. Recite the Ekadashi vrat kat and perform the aarti.8. The final fast will be broken on the next day (Dwadashi Tithi) during parana time.Special Note: Tulsi leaves can be picked the day before Ekadashi as this is not considered auspicious to pluck tulsi leaves on Ekadashi and even on Dwadashi.
