People utilise this day for spiritual purification and cleansing their mind, body and soul by keeping themselves away from all the tamasik activities. They first start observing the fast and then try to cleanse their thoughts by not talking ill about others, cleanse their body by maintaining celibacy during the day and night, cleanse their soul by not keeping any bad thoughts about anyone. Papamochani Ekadashi is believed to remove all types of sins people have committed in the past birth or current birth. This fast is powerful to remove all sins and bad karmas. This day should be taken as the great opportunity, when devotees can seek forgiveness from the Lord.
