'Fram2' named after famous Norwegian ship

Named "Fram2" after the famed Norwegian ship built in the 19th century for Arctic and Antarctic expeditions, the mission will feature a range of experiments including taking the first X-ray in space and growing mushrooms in microgravity.
It's hoped that the research will support future long-duration space travel to Mars.

Scientific experiments aboard 'Fram2'

The crew will conduct 22 scientific experiments during their mission. Like growing mushrooms in space, studying their growth in microgravity, taking X-rays of the human body in orbit and groundbreaking medical experiments never attempted before.

The mission is expected to conclude with a splashdown at sea upon re-entry.
