NEW DELHI: India's Arjun Singh and Sunil Singh Salam have earned a bronze medal in the men's canoe double 1000m event, marking a significant achievement at the ongoing Asian Games.

The Indian pair displayed exceptional prowess, completing the demanding 1000-meter course with a commendable timing of 3 minutes and 53.329 seconds, securing third place. This victory marks India's second medal in the event in the history of the Asian Games.

Previously, in the 1994 Hiroshima edition of the Games, India secured a bronze in the same event, with athletes Siji Sadanandan and Johnny Rommel achieving this feat.

The gold medal in the men's canoe double 1000m event was claimed by Uzbekistan's Shokhmurod Kholmuradov and Nurislom Tukhtasin Ugli, who posted a remarkable time of 3 minutes and 43.796 seconds. Kazakhstan's Timofey Yemelyanov and Sergey Yemelyanov clinched the silver medal, crossing the finish line with a time of 3 minutes and 49.991 seconds.



Arjun Singh and Sunil Singh Salam's achievement adds to India's growing medal tally at the Asian Games, showcasing the nation's competitive spirit and talent on the international stage. The Indian contingent continues to strive for excellence in various sporting disciplines as the games progress.
