NEW DELHI: India's men's table tennis team had a successful day at the Asian Games, winning both of their matches. In their first match, they defeated Yemen 3-0, showcasing their dominance in the tournament.

Sathiyan Gnanasekaran got India off to a strong start in the opening tie, winning 11-3, 11-2, 11-6 against Ali Omar Ahmed of Yemen in just 13 minutes. This victory gave India a 1-0 lead.

The second match of the tie saw Indian ace Achanta Sharath Kamal deliver a spectacular performance, winning 11-3, 11-4, 11-6 in just 17 minutes, helping India take a 2-0 lead over Yemen.

Harmeet Desai sealed the deal for India in the third tie, securing a comfortable 3-0 victory over Yemen. Although Harmeet was offered the first two games 11-1, 11-1, the potential decider saw some resistance from Yemen's Magd Ahmed Ali Aldhubhani. However, Harmeet eventually triumphed 11-7 in the decider.

In their second match of the day, the Indian men's table tennis team faced Singapore and emerged victorious with a 3-1 score. Sathiyan Gnanasekaran won a thrilling match against Izaac Yong in men's singles, securing a 3-1 victory.

Harmeet Desai continued India's success by winning his match 3-2, contributing to the team's 2-0 lead. However, Achanta Sharath Kamal faced a tough challenge and lost his match against Zhe Yu Clarence Chew.
