NEW DELHI: YouTuber, content creator and entrepreneur Jake Paul heaped praise on 'baddest man on the planet' Mike Tyson after emerging victorious against the boxing legend in an epic fight night in Texas on Friday.
In front of a 70,000 packed crowd at the AT&T Stadium, the 28-year-old Paul defeated veteran heavyweight icon in an eight-round battle by unanimous decision -- 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73.
And soon after defeating Tyson, Paul hailed to G.O.A.T, saying it was an honour to fight against the 58-year-old and the legend has been an inspiration to him.
"First and foremost, Mike Tyson, it's such an honor. Let's give it up for Mike," Paul said after embracing Tyson following his win.
"He's the greatest to ever do it. He's the G.O.A.T, He's a legend. I'm inspired by him and we wouldn't be here today without him.
"This man is an icon and it's just an honor to be able to fight him. He's obviously the toughest, baddest man on the planet; it was really tough like I expected it to be."
Just second before the end of the final round, Paul also bowed down in front of Tyson as a mark of respect.
In the fight, Paul, 27, used his superior speed and movement to dominate ageing Tyson with ease.
The younger fighter was however unable to land the knockout blow he had promised during Thursday's ill-tempered weigh-in, where Tyson slapped him across the face.
Tyson, 58, on the other hand, managed only a handful of meaningful punches during the fight against Paul.
Final statistics showed Tyson connected 18 of his 97 punches thrown while Paul threw some 278 punches and landed 78 of them.
