NAGPUR: Kshitij Joshi and Aditi Patel in the high school section, while Rushikesh Lohit and Krishna Maheshwari in the primary category reigned supreme in the 8th St Vincent Pallotti Memorial Inter-School Chess tournament which concluded here on Saturday.

Centre Point School Dabha student Khsitik Joshi emerged champion in the HS group with (8.5, 59) points. Somalwar Nikalas student Yash Ingolikar (8.5, 57) had to be satisfied with runner-up spot. Aryan Deogade finished third with 8 points.

In the girls section, Aditi Patel of Guru Harikrishan School grabbed the top spot with 7 points. Aditi was followed by Neeti Tatiya and Utsavi Gohil.

Rushikesh Lohit (Somalwar Nikalas 9), Soham Chhabda (CPS 8) and Vyankatesh Dande (Somalwar 7) secured first, second and third place respectively in the primary boys section. In the girls category, Krishna Maheshwari of CPS notched up top position with 5 points to her credit.

Rev Fr Varghese Pullan (Provincial Prabhu Prakash Province, Nagpur) and Principal Rev Fr Joseph Koovely distributed the prizes.

The tournament was held under the able supervision of Chhaya Janbandhu. The programme was conducted by Sunidhi and Shibica Francis.
