Pakistan fan has desperate plea to India after latest loss at Asia Cup - Watch
NEW DELHI: Amid the swirling controversies of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, including the explosive handshake row, a Pakistan cricket fan has made a desperate request that has left many amused. After watching his team slump to a seven-wicket defeat against arch-rivals India in Dubai on Sunday, the fan urged India to boycott their next game against Pakistan — so that his team could still qualify for the final.

Speaking to Indian media after the game, the fan said: “Indian media se log? As a Pakistani fan I request India to boycott the next match, because we want to qualify for the final. Boycott the next match, so we will get two points, thank you!”

The extraordinary plea came on a night when India once again outclassed Pakistan in all departments. Spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel strangled the opposition, restricting them to 127/9, with Kuldeep returning figures of 3/18. In reply, India cruised to victory in 15.5 overs, thanks to a fiery 31 from Abhishek Sharma and an unbeaten 47 by skipper Suryakumar Yadav.
But it was the post-match drama that overshadowed events on the field. Indian players walked straight off without the customary handshake, a gesture that sparked outrage across the border. Suryakumar defended the move, stating: “The team were aligned with the government and Board of Control for Cricket in India in not shaking hands with the Pakistan team. We want to dedicate today’s win to the armed forces.”
Pakistan’s head coach Mike Hesson called the snub “disappointing” and said his players were left waiting on the field. The PCB later confirmed it had lodged a protest with match referee Andy Pycroft, labelling India’s conduct “against the spirit of sportsmanship.”
The unusual fan reaction — essentially pleading with India to skip the next contest — has highlighted the growing frustration among Pakistani supporters as their team faces an uphill battle to stay alive in the tournament.
