Shubman Gill to reach Bengaluru today, will train at CoE ahead of Asia Cup
NEW DELHI: India vice-captain Shubman Gill is very likely to reach Bengaluru today and commence his preparations at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup in the UAE.
Gill was forced to miss the first round of the Duleep Trophy due to a bout of viral flu but has regained fitness and will now undergo a routine assessment before fine-tuning his preparations.

The 25-year-old did have a couple of gym sessions in Mohali and even had a hit on Thursday.
With North India hit by consistent rains, not enough facilities near his home are suitable for proper sessions, which could have prompted the early flight to Bengaluru. It is further understood that the youngster is likely to leave for Dubai from Bengaluru itself, with some other members of the Asia Cup-bound squad already camped there.
The Indian team is scheduled to reach Dubai on September 4, and practice sessions will get underway from September 5, before the side's tournament opener on September 10.
As reported by TimesofIndia.com earlier, there is a lot of activity at the CoE right now, with leading players from the country either participating in the Duleep Trophy or undergoing routine tests ahead of the Asia Cup.
It is reliably learnt that India will have Dubai as their base throughout the tournament and are expected to make same-day return trips to the UAE for the fixtures scheduled there.
India squad for Asia Cup 2025: Suryakumar Yadav (c), Shubman Gill (vc), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson (wk), Harshit Rana, Rinku Singh.
