... The Run Chase ...
Right then, just 94 runs needed for Australia Women to start their quest for a seventh title with a win. The pitch is a bit difficult to start on but in all honesty, this shouldn't be a tough chase by any means. Sri Lanka Women will have to come hard at the Aussies and will need some quick wickets in the Powerplay if they are to make a match of this one. Join us in a bit for the run chase.
Sri Lanka Women came into the tournament with a lot of promise but they have now put on a couple of under-par performances with the bat and their talismanic skipper, Chamari Athapaththu hasn't been able to get a hit with the bat either. They lost wickets front up as both openers flopped and all the pressure then fell onto the shoulders of Harshitha Madhavi who tried to anchor the innings but got out on 23. It was then Nilakshika Silva who managed to muster up some hard-fought runs and remained unbeaten on 29 off 40 balls that got them over the 90-run mark.
It was not quite a vintage performance from Australia Women in the field but one that was good enough to keep Sri Lanka Women down under the 100-run mark. Megan Schutt started things up well for the Aussies, bowling tight lines and picking up a wicket as well. However, she bowled a couple of no balls and then Darcie Brown came in and bowled three more no balls. The spinners though, kept things tight and got wickets at regular intervals, not allowing the Lankans to find those crucial boundaries. Schutt then came back in to finish off the innings and picked up a couple of more wickets which took her T20 World Cup tally to 43, equalling Shabnim Ismail's record for the most wickets in the history of the tournament.

Is that too high? Hasini Perera is caught out in the deep but the umpires have gone upstairs to check whether it is a waist-height no ball or not. The third umpire checks the replays and asks for ball tracking. The calculated decision shows that the ball would have been 53 centimeters below the waist-line if the contact was made right on the popping crease and the decision on the big screen is OUT.
Georgia Wareham to Hasini Perera, OUT! Taken! That's a fine catch. On a day when the Aussies have been sloppy in the field, that's really good! Perera steps out. She makes this into a full toss.
