NEW DELHI: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has wished the Indian team in his own unique manner. Pattnaik, who has scripted many caricatures with sand, has portrayed an "All the Best" message for the Indian cricket and hockey teams for their respective encounters against Pakistan.
In cricket, India face Pakistan in the final of the
ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday whereas the men's hockey team will be up against their arch-rivals in Group B match of the Hockey World League Semi-final.
Pattnaik, known for his immaculate art work with sand shares messages related to almost every topic across India ranging from social, political, environmental concerns and sports at Puri beach. A while back, he had created a similar message for the Indian team when they beat Bangladesh to set up Sunday's marquee clash. As far as Sports is concerned, Pattnaik has paid tribute to the likes of Sachin Tendulkar (on his retirement), MS Dhoni (on his move of stepping down as India's captain) and many on more instances.
A week back, Pattnaik, expressing concern over the state government's poor cleanliness measures at Puri beach, said he would sit on dharna if the government does not wake up to the problem at the earliest. Last Saturday, Pattnaik created an art at Bankimuhan beach with a message "save our Puri beach".
