All is in readiness in Delhi to kick off the action. The umpires are out in the middle, followed by the players of the Rajasthan Royals led by their skipper, Sanju Samson, who gives a final pep talk in a huddle, before they spread out to take their respective field positions. Also, the two openers, Ayush Mhatre and Devon Conway of Chennai Super Kings, come out to open the innings. Tushar Deshpande has the new ball in his hand, and he will start the proceedings. Here we go...
The captain of Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni, says that the boys have already started to express themselves, especially batters, to play freely, going into the last two matches. Adds that he is looking forward to seeing and analysing which individual is playing how, and they can be in the group for the future. Admits that the bowling has gone for some runs, where they have done decently after the six overs, but their problem has been majorly in the Powerplay, thus they are trying to find out which one bowler can fit into that bracket. Mentions that that’s what they are doing after they have gotten out of the playoff contention, finding out the players and strategies for the next season, apart from playing for pride. He is quite happy with the way they have batted in the last few games, particularly, and he hopes that the batters will continue that. States that it becomes tough to come out and express yourself in pressure situations, but this is an opportunity for the players to bat as they want, where they can play their shots freely. Further says that they have observed this even from the other teams, where the batter can play authentic cricketing shots and with a good strike rate. Informs that they are going in with the same team that played the last match.
Sanju Samson, the skipper of Rajasthan Royals, says that they will bowl first and watching the previous game, it felt like the wicket got better in the second half. Adds that every individual needs to believe that they can be a match-winner, and if a few of them actually fire, they could get the win. Mentions that the players need to be brave and informs that the combination remains the same, but Yudhvir comes in for Farooqi, and there's one more change as well.
