We are back for the all-important run chase. The umpires are back out in the middle and the players of MI gather in a huddle before striding out and taking their positions on the field. The hard-hitting duo of Shafali Verma and Lizelle Lee will open the innings for Delhi Capitals. Veteran and fiesty pacer, Shabnim Ismail, will take the new ball for Mumbai. Rahila Firdous is keeping wickets and Hayley Matthews is standing at first slip. Let's go...
…THE RUN CHASE…
Now, chasing a target of 155, the Capitals will need a strong start and consistent contributions across the lineup if they hope to challenge a strong MI side and secure their second win of the season. Will they rise to the occasion, or will the MI bowlers come hard and defend their total? We’ll find out soon. Stay tuned for the second essay!
Marizanne Kapp of the Delhi Capitals is down for a chat. Kapp says that she would have liked a couple more wickets and reckons that the score on the board is gettable but the chase won't be easy. Adds that she has bowled four overs on the trot in the earlier seasons and today, she felt like she needed to get the wicket of the two set batters. Mentions that there wasn't any movement off the deck and she doesn't like to bowl on such wickets but also feels that she was a touch too full with her lengths.
The Delhi Capitals were brilliant in the first half of the innings, applying relentless pressure and taking crucial wickets. Marizanne Kapp bowled a miserly spell, conceding just 8 runs in her four overs while picking up a wicket. Sree Charani was exceptional in the middle overs, claiming three key wickets, and Nandni Sharma and Lucy Hamilton also did tidy work at the death. While DC did have a few lapses in the field, with misfields and dropped chances that allowed MI to score a bit more, overall, their bowling performance was impressive.
An excellent finish propelled the Mumbai Indians to a competitive total of 154/5 in their 20 overs. After being asked to bat first, MI stumbled early, losing both openers inside the Powerplay. However, Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt steadied the innings with a crucial 78-run partnership for the third wicket. Kaur made a well-crafted 41 before departing, while Nicola Carey and Amanjot Kaur were unable to make much impact. Sciver-Brunt anchored the innings brilliantly, remaining unbeaten on 65 off 45 balls, and Sanskriti Gupta contributed valuable runs toward the end, helping the team surpass the 150-run mark.
Lucy Hamilton to Sanskriti Gupta, SIX! BANG! A maximum to end the innings! Slower ball on the full, on off. Sanskriti Gupta charges down the pitch and smashes it over the bowler's head, clearing the long on boundary for a biggie. MI finish on 154/5.

Nandni Sharma to Sanskriti Gupta, This is very sloppy from DC! Slower, loopy delivery, just outside off. Gupta bunts it toward mid off for looks to take one. Niki Prasad throws it to the bowler, Nandni Sharma, who fails to collect it cleanly. After that, the ball rolls behind and DC are half asleep and the batters sneak in the second run as the bowler runs after the ball but can't pick it up cleanly. After 19 overs, MI are 141/5.
