Here we go...
... DAY 2, SESSION 2 ...
What a way to make a comeback - Both Kyle Jamieson and Ollie Robinson had been away from Test cricket for a couple of years, and both announced their return in the most emphatic fashion possible, each picking up five-wicket hauls in the first innings at Lord's. Jamieson also contributed some handy runs with the bat this morning as well, part of a late lower-order resurgence that saw New Zealand add 48 for their last four wickets after being reduced to 65/6. So it's been so far, so good for England, but this game is a long way from safe. Runs have not come easily in the overcast conditions, and the surface continues to offer the seamers more than enough to keep the batters honest. With England's lead reading 99 runs, it sets up for a gripping post-Lunch session. Play is expected to resume at 12.55 pm GMT. Stay tuned.
Graft over glory at Lord's - With a 27-run lead at their disposal, England started off watchfully against the new ball spells from Nathan Smith and Jamieson. Ben Duckett just started to look dangerous, though he was not fluent to start with, but was finding his touch. However, a judgmental error in picking the length cost him his wicket. It has not been easy out there to bat by any means, and through baptism by fire for Gay on debut, he has come through it well so far. Perhaps it's the sort of match when any runs you score count double. If you get 40 here, it's the equivalent of getting 80 on a truer surface.
England's spot-on execution with the ball - New Zealand hoped for Glenn Phillips to shrink the 79-run deficit, but Josh Tongue started the day off by removing both overnight batters. Kyle Jamieson did show some intent with the bat, and actually, he was the lead scorer for the tourists, with a cameo of 38, but his resistance was short-lived, and his dismissal saw New Zealand getting bundled up on 113, with still a fair bit of deficit left. Robinson and Tongue tore apart the Kiwi lower order with the former completing a spectacular five-for.
Lunch, Day 2 - England have had the better of the session in all senses. They bundled New Zealand out in the first half, and then extended the lead to 99 runs with just one wicket down. They did lose Duckett, but have added a handy flurry of runs, and Emilio Gay has looked very promising so far. The pitch seemed to have eased out as the session wore on, and England were also handed a lifeline when Ravindra grassed one in the infield. Overall, a promising morning for England on the Ruth Strauss Day.
Will O'Rourke to Jacob Bethell, Absolute ripper to end the session! Will O'Rourke lands this short of a length and on middle, gets some extra bounce and away movement as well. Jacob Bethell is taken aback as he tries to keep it out, but the ball brushes his thumb before hitting his chest on the left side. That probably saves the ball from carrying to the slip cordon and Bethell survives. THAT WILL BE LUNCH ON DAY 2!

Will O'Rourke to Jacob Bethell, FOUR! Another boundary! Hard length and just around off, Jacob Bethell plays with soft hands with an angled bat. Henry has looked off-rhythm in his two overs so far. The lead for England is now 91 runs. Probably the last over before Lunch, then. Will O'Rourke (3-1-10-1) to continue.
Matt Henry to Emilio Gay, FOUR BYES! More runs! Fuller but angling down the leg side, Emilio Gay fails to glance it away and the keeper, Tom Blundell, perhaps being blinded by the batter, also fails to locate and stop the ball to his right as it races to the fine leg fence.

Matt Henry to Emilio Gay, EDGED AND FOUR! Matt Henry lands this on a hard length and just around off, gets it to shape away a bit. Emilio Gay stands in his crease as the keeper is up to the stumps. He tries to play at it but gets a thick outside edge. It flies between first and second slips, where Tom Latham at the former position leaves it, and Daryl Mitchell is late to react as the ball runs behind to the fence.
It looks like Matt Henry is not happy with the shape of the ball. But it passes the gauge test done by the umpire, with Kane Williamson having a close look. Good to resume.
Matt Henry to Emilio Gay, FOUR! Nice shot! Very full delivery and around off, not troubling the batter at all. Emilio Gay gets his front foot closer to the pitch of the ball and plays a glorious cover drive to pick up a boundary.

Just when the opening partnership was starting to frustrate the Kiwis, they have got a breakthrough just before Lunch. Jacob Bethell walks in at number 3.
Will O'Rourke to Ben Duckett, OUT! TAKEN! Will O'Rourke strikes the first blow. He goes much fuller and just around off. Ben Duckett sets himself up for the short ball and decides late to play at that ball. He just throws his hands at the ball with his feet going nowhere. The bat gets skewed in his hands as the ball flies off the face of the bat towards gully, where Glenn Phillips takes a sharp low catch to his front. England are 52/1, leading by 79 runs.
Will O'Rourke to Ben Duckett, FOUR! Put away! Short of a length and on middle, Ben Duckett rides the bounce and rolls his wrists to pull it away. He takes his eyes off but hits it well over short square leg as the ball races to the fence for a boundary. 50 up for England.
