NEW DELHI: Suryakumar Yadav started his IPL career with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and was a part of the KKR squad from 2012 to 2017.
During his stint with KKR, he was mostly used as a lower-order batsman and gained attention for his innovative shots, particularly his scoop shots and his ability to play impactful cameos.

On the eve on the first T20I, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) shared a video on their official X handle in which Suryakumar Yadav looks back at his journey at the Eden Gardens and how it was playing for KKR under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir, who is now the head coach of the Indian cricket team.

The video has SKY saying that when he started playing for KKR, he had never thought that ten years down the line, he would lead India one day, adding that it's a nice feeling to be the captain of the national side.
