This is the death over specialist Bhuvneshwar Kumar everyone knows of. Gives away only 6 runs in the last over and picks up a wicket. India will be very pleased to restrict Australia for over just 150. 58 runs came in the last five overs for Australia. They started pretty slow but Smith and Stoinis made sure that they end up putting a defendable total on the board. After their powerful batting performance against England in their first warm-up game, the Men in Blue will feel that they can chase this target as well although, Australia do possess a good bowling line up.
A decent performance with the bat from the Aussies! Warner's form is a big concern for Australia as he got out for a golden duck against New Zealand and got out for just 1 run today. Marsh didn't have the best of the birthdays as he got out for a golden duck. Finch also fell later and Australia found themselves in a spot of bother with 34/3 in the Powerplay. Maxwell and Smith then did some damage control by stitching a 61-run partnership before Maxwell got out. After that, Smith and Stoinis built a partnership of 76 and helped Australia to put 152 on the board.
With Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami not playing this game, India will be very happy with their bowling effort. Many were surprised with Ashwin's inclusion in the squad but he silenced all those critics in this game though it is a warm-up game. Coming onto bowl the second over, he removed Warner and Marsh in consecutive deliveries and put the Aussies right under pressure. Jadeja then worked his magic by removing Finch on his first delivery. The bowlers did lose some momentum at the end but still will be pleased with their efforts as overall, their bowlers did well collectively. Looks like a chasable total and with the kind of form Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul are in, India should chase it down. Stay tuned for the second essay.
... THE RUN CHASE ...
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Matthew Wade, FOUR! A cheeky shot to end the innings from Matthew Wade. Full, on middle, Wade shuffles across and scoops it over short fine leg for a boundary. AUSTRALIA FINISH WITH 152/5!
Matthew Wade walks out.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Steven Smith, OUT! CAUGHT! The momentum has shifted yet again in this final over as India are ending on a high and Steven Smith will be disappointed with that. It's an off-paced delivery again and is banged in, outside off. Smith looks to fetch it and pull but ends up toe-ending it towards extra cover. Rohit Sharma is stationed over there and he takes the simplest of catches.
