... RUN CHASE ...
Right then. India need 189 to win and will need all their batters to contribute well if they want to chase this down. They do have the firepower required but it will not be easy against this talented English bowling attack. It should be a close chase. Stay tuned for India's reply.
The Indians did not have the best time out in the middle and will feel like they have conceded around 20-25 runs more than what they would have wanted. They did well in the middle phase as their spinners made batting slightly tough for the English batters but that did not continue for long as the Brits bounced back well towards the end. As usual, Jasprit Bumrah continued to be the star for India as he finished with figures of 4-0-26-1, bowling two top overs at the death. Ravichandran Ashwin had a fruitful evening, as he conceded just 23 in his quota of 4 overs. Mohammed Shami and Rahul Chahar had wickets to their names, as the former had 3, and Rahul had one, but they were slightly expensive. Bhuvneshwar Kumar went wicketless and did not look like he was at his best.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Moeen Ali, SIX! Moeen ends the innings with a mighty hit! Bhuvneshwar Kumar misses the line and length, delivers it full and around off, right in the arc for Moeen and he launches it over long off. 21 from the last over and England finish on 188/5.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Moeen Ali, SIX! A low full toss outside off, Moeen once again goes after it and slices it over backward point for a biggie.
This has been a good batting display by England and they will be pretty pleased that they have breached the 180-run mark. Most of their batters contributed decently but Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow took the charge in the middle overs, which helped them end on a competitive total. Inside the Powerplay, the English Lions lost both their openers as they could not continue after getting decent starts. Malan was looking like he was settling in well but Chahar got the better of him. A 52-run stand was created between Livingstone and Bairstow but as they were looking to amp it up, Liam fell. Bairstow continued on his way and just missed out on his fifty, as he lost his wicket on 49. Moeen Ali gave him company and slammed a few lusty blows towards the end as he ended with a 20-ball 43, which saw them end on 188.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Moeen Ali, FOUR! Streaky! Fuller and wide outside off, Moeen throws his bat at it and edges it past the diving keeper for a boundary at third man.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Moeen Ali, Yorker around middle, Moeen digs it out on the leg side and it dribbles through mid-wicket. They collect another two.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Moeen Ali, Once again Moeen reaches out for delivery wide outside off and this time he connects. He sends it from the toe end of his bat to deep cover. Virat Kohli runs across to his right but the ball lands and spins away. He does well to stop it with his left hand and avoids an embarrassing situation. Two taken.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Moeen Ali, Identical to the last delivery, this time it's just inside the tramline, Moeen chases but misses.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Moeen Ali, Wide! Kumar fails to get his line right on the first ball, delivers it way wide outside off, Moeen leaves it.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to end proceedings in this innings. 0/33 in his 3 overs. Can he bowl a stingy over?
Jasprit Bumrah to Chris Woakes, Shortish and around off, Woakes shapes up for a pull shot but it takes the bottom edge and goes on one bounce to Pant. A dot ball. End of a top over from Jasprit Bumrah!
Jasprit Bumrah to Moeen Ali, Very full and around leg, Moeen is beaten for pace and hence fails to flick it away. The ball deflects off his pads to point and they steal a leg bye.
Jasprit Bumrah to Moeen Ali, Moeen plays it straight and bags a couple. Bumrah delivers it in the blockhole, Ali digs it out back past the bowler and comes back for the second run.
Jasprit Bumrah to Chris Woakes, Fuller and outside off, pushed away to point for a single.
Chris Woakes makes his way out into the middle.
Jasprit Bumrah to Jonny Bairstow, OUT! TIMBER! That's an absolute jaffa from Jasprit Bumrah. An unplayable leg-stump yorker, landing right on the popping crease, Jonny Bairstow tries to keep it out but misses and finds the stumps disturbed. Great delivery to remove a set batsman from the crease. A handy knock nonetheless from Jonny.
Jasprit Bumrah to Jonny Bairstow, Yorker around off, slower in pace, Jonny Bairstow pushes it through point and collects a couple of runs.
Jasprit Bumrah will bowl the penultimate over. He has given 21 off his previous 3 overs. Can he end things well?
