The square boundaries are around 60m, but it is around 70m straight. He is joined by W V Raman who mention that it is dry and slow so the pitch will be a bit difficult to bat on. Bishop adds that there may be some uneven bounce on this pitch as well.

Pitch Report
"The square boundaries are almost similar. They are almost 60 metres. The spinners will have a huge role to play. The pitch will be a little dry and it might get slower and slower as the game goes on. It might be a little two paced." - Ian Bishop and WV Raman

Harmanpreet Kaur the skipper of India Women says that they wanted to bat since they chased in the last game and wanted to see how they set a target. Mentions that the wicket is looking better than before but they just wanted to bat first and it had nothing to do with the conditions. Claims that Smriti Mandhana is in the side and she loves to chase so they are looking forward to with Devika Vaidya also brought into the team. Reckons that it is good for them that they know the opponent well as they played a few times recently and they we want to do the same that they did in the first game. Ends by saying that the recently concluded auction was a big day for all of them but the world cup is imortant so they want to focus on it at the moment.

Adds that the wicket played well in the previous game and they want to put up some runs on the board and then try to defend it. We wanted to bat today. Last game we chased. Today, the wicket is looking a little better compared to the last game. We wanted to bat first. Smriti and Devika are back. We know them. We played a couple of games before the tournament. Big day for all of us (when asked about the auction).

India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur

18:06 (IST) Feb 15

We are gonna have a bat. Last game didn't go too badly. We have one change. We had the tri-series. India are a strong side. We would look to get better of them by playing our brand of cricket.

West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews

TOSS - The captains are out in the middle. The coin is flipped into the air and lands in favor of West Indies Women. They have elected to BAT first.

18:03 (IST) Feb 15
TOSS TIME! West Indies opt to bat
West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews won the toss and decided to bat against India in Cape Town
17:53 (IST) Feb 15
However, the skipper needs the others to step up, especially the experienced Stefanie Taylor, who has returned from a back injury. It will be a crucial fixture for West Indies as a loss would knock the former champions out of the semi-final contention.
17:52 (IST) Feb 15
The Hayley Matthews-led side is enduring a wretched run, having lost 14 matches on the trot. They will once again turn to skipper Matthews who has oodles of experience. The skipper is no stranger to delivering on the big stage.
17:52 (IST) Feb 15
West Indies, on the other hand, will be eager to register their first win in the tournament having being thrashed by England in their opener.
17:32 (IST) Feb 15
Smriti Mandhana's finger injury has healed sufficiently to allow her to be part of India's playing eleven in the Women's T20 World Cup match against West Indies on Wednesday, said the Indian coaching staff ahead of the game. Mandhana had missed the team's win in its tournament opener against Pakistan. Mandhana participated in the team's training session on Tuesday and according to the team's bowling coach Troy Cooley, the 26-year-old left-handed opener did well in the nets.
17:23 (IST) Feb 15
The addition of Mandhana, a vital cog in this Indian team's scheme of things, will not doubt bolster the batting.
17:11 (IST) Feb 15
Jemimah starred for India vs Pakistan
India will breathe a sigh of relief that Jemimah Rodrigues, a proven match-winner, hit form after an underwhelming run as she anchored the innings but the middle-order batter will have to manage her strike rate better and go for the big shots.
17:04 (IST) Feb 15
Opening the innings in the absence of Mandhana, Yastika Bhatia struggled for rhythm while skipper Harmanpreet Kaur too perished without making an impact.
17:04 (IST) Feb 15
The big-hitting Shafali Verma, fresh from leading India to the inaugural U19 World Cup title, didn't look her imperious best against Pakistan. She struggled to get the big shots.
16:32 (IST) Feb 15
If India want to win the title, the batting department too has to pull up its socks. It if wasn't for young Richa Ghosh's three boundaries on the trot in the 18th over, India would have been unable to cross the line against Pakistan.
16:23 (IST) Feb 15
They will be keen to give a better account of themselves. With tougher opposition expected as the tournament progresses, the Indian bowlers couldn't have asked for a better opponent than a familiar West Indies side, whom India beat twice in the recent tri-series.
16:12 (IST) Feb 15
The Indian bowlers were guilty of taking their foot off the pedal in the back end of the innings, allowing Pakistan to score 91 runs in the second half of their innings.
16:07 (IST) Feb 15

She has been working very hard and she will be assessed after training. She did everything that needed to be done and we are pretty confident she got through the session OK.

India bowling coach Troy Cooley

15:59 (IST) Feb 15
India bowling coach Troy Cooley is hopeful that Mandhana will be fit to make her first appearance in the tournament.
15:58 (IST) Feb 15
Mandhana missed the tie against Pakistan owing to a finger injury but the star opener is likely to be back in the team against the West Indies, who are coming off a big loss against England, as she came through a pre-match training session unscathed.
15:57 (IST) Feb 15
The Indian batters, without vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, managed to complete their highest successful chase in the T20 World Cup in the win against Pakistan.
15:56 (IST) Feb 15
Having got the better of Pakistan in the lung-opener, India would endeavour to put up an improved bowling show against West Indies in their second Women's T20 World Cup match today.
