NEW DELHI: India’s World Cup journey has seen both highs and lows across the eleven editions of the tournament so far from 1975 to 1999. As the showpiece one-day international tournament enters its 44th year, here’s a look back at some of the moments embossed in the mind of every Indian cricket lover.

Bishan Singh Bedi bowled the tightest spell ever: 12-8-6-1 against East Africa in 1975.
Yashpal Sharma’s 89 fired India to an unlikely victory over the seemingly invincible West Indies in a group game in 1983.
Kapil Dev's unbeaten 175 against Zimbabwe is the stuff of legends, but it was his running catch of Viv Richards that turned the 1983 final in India's favour.
