NEW DELHI: Pakistan's fast bowler, Haris Rauf, had encountered a rib strain during the match against New Zealand in Bengaluru. Despite this discomfort, he completed his full bowling quota, ending with figures of 1 wicket for 85 runs, which were not up to his usual standards.
However, the good news is that Rauf's rib strain doesn't seem to be a major concern, and he is fit and available for selection in the upcoming crucial group stage match against England in the World Cup.
In their recent game, Pakistan chased down a massive target of 402 runs, securing a victory by 21 runs via the DLS (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern) method, keeping their hopes alive for a spot in the semifinals.
"Haris underwent an MRI scan of his rib and the report is okay. The test was carried out as a precaution after he reported pain on the left side of his ribs during the last game in Bengaluru against New Zealand," Pakistan media manager Umar Farooq told PTI in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Shadab to be reassessedLeg-spinning all-rounder Shadab, who was sidelined from the team's last two matches as he recuperated from a concussion, is set to undergo a reassessment during training on Wednesday, as mentioned by the team official, Farooq.
Shadab sustained a head injury while fielding, resulting from an awkward landing on his shoulder during their match against South Africa. As a result, Usama Mir was named as a concussion substitute.
Due to his concussion, Shadab had to sit out during the team's subsequent two matches against Bangladesh and New Zealand.

Few of them indulged in shopping, while some opted to stay put at the team hotel, catching up on the crucial Afghanistan-Australia fixture.
The Babar Azam-led side must win big against England on Saturday and also hope that other results go in their favour to sneak into the semifinals.
