CHENNAI: It was a crushing loss for Pakistan and the team's director of cricket Mickey Arthur was brutally honest, saying that there are loopholes in the team that haven't been plugged.

"We have not played well enough in the World Cup. There are holes in the team that have been exposed. If we have to come back, we need to play to our potential which we didn't today," Arthur said.

"There was a time in the innings after the 45th over when I was counting that run-a-ball from there would take us on 295. But that was not to be and we had to pay the price."


Usama comes in as concussion sub after Shadab injury
Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan suffered a head injury during the clash. He was replaced by spinner Usama Mir as the concussion substitute.

The incident happened in the opening over of South Africa's chase when Shadab attempted to run out Quinton de Kock only to land badly on his head and shoulder, needing immediate medical attention. Although he briefly returned to the field, he was later ruled out of the remainder of the encounter.
