NEW DELHI: Cricket saw one of its most stylish fans ever in the stands on Monday. Singer, fashionista and a global icon Rihanna came out to cheer for the Windies at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street on Monday in their match vs Sri Lanka.

The Men in maroon lost the closely fought contest, but Barbados-born Rihanna was cheering for Jason Holder and his men.

After the match, the pop and R&B superstar met Chris Gayle and other members of the West Indies team.

The official Twitter handle of the ICC Cricket World Cup shared a video of the superstars meeting in the Windies dressing room.

Rihanna was in fact wearing a Windies cricket cap and also got a cricket bat signed by Gayle.

On the match front, West Indies went on to lose the match by 23 runs, their sixth defeat of their woeful 2019 campaign.

West Indies are already out of the race for the semis and have one match remaining in the tournament against Afghanistan on July 4.
