Rohit Sharma wrote his name in the history books on Friday, becoming the highest run-getter in T20 internationals. The 31-year-old went past New Zealand's Martin Guptill during the second T20I against New Zealand at the
Eden Park
in Auckland to go to the top of the list.
Rohit achieved the feat in style, hitting leg-spinner Ish Sodhi over the fine-leg boundary for a six.
The 'Hitman', who was at No. 3 on the list, needed 35 runs before this match to go past Guptill (2272 runs). Guptill didn't play this match. In the process, Rohit also surpassed Pakistani all-rounder
Shoaib Malik who is now in third place with 2263 runs. Indian skipper Virat Kohli is at No. 4 with 2167 runs, just 27 runs ahead of New Zealand's
