India vs South Africa 3rd Test Day 2 Highlights: India 57/2 at stumps, take 70-run lead

Jasprit Bumrah continues to impress after the Tea break. Claims his fourth wicket as a set Keegan Petersen walks back for 72. Outside edge and Chateshwar Pujara takes a good catch at first slip. Pacers have now put India on top in this contest. South Africa are still 44 runs behind India in the first innings.

Mohammed Shami bowled a magical over to get two wickets in three balls as India forced South Africa to press the panic button going into tea at 176 for 7 on an interesting second day of the third and final Test. South Africa still need 48 runs to cross India's first innings score of 223 and a lot will depend on South Africa's find of the series Keegan Petersen (70 batting), who remained solid at one end despite three wickets tumbling at the other. The session also turned out to be a good one for Indian captain Virat Kohli, who also completed a personal milestone of 100 catches in Test cricket with a couple of smart pouches in the slip cordon. If Umesh Yadav (12-3-50-2) set up the session with an conventional outswinger that saw Rassie van Der Dussen (21) edging one to Kohli at second slip, Shami (16-4-39-2) removed the dogged Temba Bavuma (28) and Kyle Verreynne (0) with two ideal Test match deliveries in the 56th over. The deliveries had everything, upright seam and pitched fuller on the off-stump with just about adequate movement. Bavuma was caught low by a diving Kohli while Rishabh Pant had a smart take to remove his opposite number. At stroke of tea, Jasprit Bumrah (17.2-6-29-3), who has been incredible in the two sessions, settled his scores with Marco Jansen sending his off-stump for a walk.The best part of the session was skipper Kohli's adjustment when he, at second slip, decided to stand a few steps ahead of the first slip after realising that the ball is not carrying in full. There were a couple of times Shardul Thakur (6-1-21-0) did find the outside edge of Petersen's bat but on both occasions, the ball died down before skipper Kohli at first slip.

An absolute corker from Jasprit Bumrah as Marco Jansen is beaten all ends up. The ball crashes into Jansen's off stump. A big stare from Bumrah as Jansen takes a walk back to the pavilion. India hit back hard in the second session. That's it! Tea it is on Day 2. A fantastic session for India as pacers managed 4 wickets in it. South Africa, at one stage looked like will comfortably go past India's first innings total but now thing have turned around completely. A sensational effort from the bowlers as India bounce back in this contest. Keegan Petersen goes into the break unbeaten on 70.

Perfect response from Mohammed Shami after getting hit for a boundary on the previous ball. Drags back his length slightly and the ball just nips away marginally to take the outside edge of Temba Bavuma's bat. Virat Kohli takes a good catch in slips. It is also now the 100th catch for Kohli in Tests. Bavuma departs for 28.

Temba Bavuma gets a lifeline! Genuine outside edge and Cheteshwar Pujara puts it down at first slip. The ball also hit the helmets kept behind the keeper so South Africa also get 5 penalty runs. Shardul thakur is gutted. It was a tough chance as the ball was dipping down but should have been taken by Pujara. Bavuma survives! SA 143/4 after 49.5 overs

Umesh Yadav strikes for India after lunch. A much-needed wicket for Virat Kohli and co. as Rassie van der Dussen and Keegan Petersen's 67-run partnership is finally broken. Umesh pitches the ball up and van der Dussen goes for the drive. The ball moves away enough to take the outside edge of van der Dussen's bat. Kohli makes no mistake at second slip. Run out chance missed! For the second time in two overs Rassie van der Dussen has survived a run out. After Shardul Thakur missed a direct hit in the previous over, this time Ajinkya Rahane misses the stumps, throwing the ball from covers. Van der Dussen went for a quick single and was no where in the frame this time. Van der Dussen living dangerously at the moment.
