While the series is being played closed doors, the bio-security bubble breach at the Taj Samudra hotel in Colombo, where the Indian team is staying, is being considered a reason. One of the logistics staff (bus driver, groundsmen) or catering staff at the ground might also be a carrier.

Reports say that net bowlers Ishan Porel, Sandeep Warrier, Arshdeep Singh, Sai Kishore and Simarjeet Singh have been added into the main squad after nine players of the preliminary squad were been ruled out.

While Krunal stays a 7-day isolation in a separate hotel, the 8 other players, who tested negative will also not be part of the Indian team in today's encounter.
