Young batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal not just pummeled the West Indies bowlers to hand India a much-needed win in the fourth T20I at Lauderhill in Florida on Saturday, but the 21-year-old also shattered a long-time record held by compatriot Rohit Sharma. Yashasvi, who scored an unbeaten 84 runs to give India a resounding 9-wicket win to level the series 2-2, went past Rohit in terms of scoring 75 plus runs in a T20I match, a record that stood for 13 years, 3 months, 6 days. In the process, the Mumbai cricketer became the youngest Indian batsman to post 75-plus in T20Is.

It's all about the mindset. I believe in myself and I trust in myself. If I give everything it can happen. I just keep telling myself these things, go out there and express myself. I just try to keep it really simple.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Jaiswal, who hit his maiden T20 half-century after shining during the test series earlier, said he had full belief in his ability to deliver despite the switch to a different format.

The (last) two games we played reflected that we pulled up our socks and made sure to play good cricket. In T20 cricket no one is a favourite. You have to turn up and play good cricket. You have to respect the opposition. They were 2-0 up because they played better cricket than us. Today, we have to turn up and do exactly what we did on Saturday.

Pandya said he was happy to see his team show some steel after losing the opening two matches of the series.

Gill and Jaiswal were brilliant. There's no doubt over their skill set. They just needed to spend some time between the wickets. Going forward we have to take more responsibility as a batting group and support the bowlers. I've always believed bowlers win matches.
